About Beverlye
Beverlye Hyman Fead is an author, artist, photographer and public speaker living with cancer. Aging in High Heels is her online zine filled with witty and inspirational content about aging with acceptance, humor and style.
Beverlye Hyman Fead is a California author, speaker and activist. She was diagnosed with metastasized Stage IV Uteral Stromal Sarcoma in 2002 and given two months to live. Since then, she has written 3 award-winning books, I Can Do This: Living With Cancer and Nana, What's Cancer? and Aging in High Heels as well as produced an award-winning short documentary Stage IV, Living With Cancer. Her passion is to speak all over the country on living with cancer, self-esteem and aging. Having lost her grandmother, mother, and both sisters to cancer, Beverlye has devoted a great deal of time to cancer on every level.
In 2006 Beverlye became a “Celebration on the Hill Legislative Ambassador” for the American Cancer Society along with being Hero for Hope. She has been the honoree for several cancer functions in Los Angeles, New York and Santa Barbara. In 2015 she spoke in Washington DC from a patient prospective on cancer and aging. In 2016 she became an advocate for aging research for Global Healthspan Priority Institute (GHPI) in Washington. In 2017, she gave a TEDx Talk, "Its About Time We Rethink Aging" in Upper West Side, New York.
In 2019, Beverlye was presented with the Perennial Hero Award by Alliance for Aging Research in Washington D.C.
Beverlye has taken what she has learned from living with Stage 1V cancer and has passed it on to people who are aging and have chronic diseases.
Beverlye passion now, is not only speaking about cancer and aging, but sharing her knowledge about wellness and the steps to live within a health-span. Her upcoming project is a new vlog called Engaged At Every Age with gerontologist, Linda Victor which is to be soon found on Youtube.

My objective is to inspire with stories of five 4th stage cancer survivors who have far exceeded their dire diagnosis and prognosis. This film is about cancer survivors who have lived exciting and fulfilling lives after at Stage 4. I want this to inspire families and friends of cancer survivors and people without illness in their lives and see that they can change their lives also. I want to show how cancer is different today and becoming more of a manageable disease in our lifetime.
